Radiant Heating

Radiant heating is an ideal solution where localised spot heating is needed, where it is impossible to close the area off from outside, and where minimal air movement is required, but it doesn't suit every application.

Because it heats objects, including people, directly, radiant heating can cut through cold air, creating comfortable conditions even when the air itself is difficult to heat.

By directing the heat only where needed (spot heating), radiant heaters can reduce energy use dramatically, and systems may qualify for interest free Carbon Trust loans.

Radiant heaters can use many different fuels, including all types of gas, oil and electricity.

This type of heating is less suited to situations where "shadowing" can occur, when a part of the body, typically the legs, are shielded from the heater by, for example, a desk or workbench.
