Evaporative Air Cooling Systems

Evaporative air cooling systems have come a long way since their early days, and offer many benefits, including:

  • Costs 80 to 90% less to run than air conditioning.
  • Evaporative coolers (evap coolers) emit only 10 to 20% of the carbon that air conditioning does.
  • In appropriate buildings, costs up to 70% less than air conditioning to install.
  • An evap cooler delivers 100% fresh air, not recycled air.
  • Gives MORE cooling as it gets hotter outside, with no upper limit, unlike air conditioning, which gives less and eventually fails completely.
  • Evap cooling allows doors and windows to be left open.
  • Works equally well in localised parts of a building, to provide spot cooling without extra partitions.

Because of the energy savings involved, our evaporative cooling projects can often be financed in part or in total through Carbon Trust interest free loans, and we are able to guide you through the process of submitting and expediting an application.

Click below for more information about the Carbon Trust scheme.

Carbon Trust
Energy Efficiency Loans from the Carbon Trust are a cost effective way to replace or upgrade your existing equipment with a more energy efficient version. This means an immediate benefit from carbon, energy and cost savings. Procool can provide details of Carbon Trust interest-free loans and assist you in completing your application.

Because it's often cheaper, it's tempting to think evaporative cooling is less effective than air conditioning. Click below to see how it out performs air conditioning as the temperature rises.
