Here are some of the factors that might make air conditioning the best option for your space:
- Air conditioning heat pumps are by far the most efficient form of electric heating available, so if you need heating, and don't have other fuels available, it may be a good choice.
- Air conditioning units are available in a wide range of sizes, and it may suit areas that are too small for other technologies, eg small offices.
- Air conditioning can achieve lower temperatures than other technologies can, so if you need a lower temperature than would normally be comfortable, it's a good solution.
- It's possible to have different settings in neighbouring small rooms, unlike many other technologies.
- Air conditioning can be installed where there's no route for ductwork to the outside of the building.
- Modern air conditioning systems are far more efficient than older ones, and some existing systems will soon become obsolete. Replacing an older system with a new one can easily pay for itself very quickly, and can be financed entirely from the savings you'll make!
